ABOUT

We use our knowledge and experience to magnify the impact of people who are doing worthy things.

Dr. Sid Webb

Dr. Sid Webb has been a nonprofit leader and conference presenter for over 35 years. Based in Colorado Springs, he has coached hundreds of leaders worldwide.

Sid’s specialties include public speaking, nonprofit leader/board training, executive coaching, organizational transition guidance, and project writing. Sid has an exceptional ability to listen combined with keen perception regarding generational, cultural, and organizational dynamics.

Sid is a graduate of Florida State University and Dallas Theological Seminary, winning the honor graduate award from DTS for his doctoral work on nonprofit best practices. For twenty years he was a leader in the “released time” education movement around the US. Sid also served for two decades as a Senior Instructor and trainer with Walk Thru the Bible Ministries.

In June 2013 the Black Forest, Colorado wildfire destroyed 500 houses near Colorado Springs. It was the most destructive fire in the history of Colorado and very quickly destroyed the Webbs’ home and Sid’s office. The news footage of their house burning was seen around the country.

Afterward, the Webbs asked the question, Now that we have lost everything, how do we spend the rest of our lives? They choose to live lightly and to focus their efforts on making an impact in the world with the time remaining. To that end, Sid established Build What Counts LLC, based out of Colorado Springs.

Sid recently published Nomad's Fire: Life at the Intersection of Loss and Significance. It tells his fire journey and challenges the reader to think about what most matters in life.

Nomad’s Fire is Sid’s third book. The second book is a user-friendly guide on how to develop engaged nonprofit governing boards. It introduces the concept of the “Goldilocks Board,” a board which is active at just the right level (not too much, not too little). Sid’s first book was his doctoral dissertation on nonprofit governing board duties.

TESTIMONIAL

I have been personally inspired by Sid for more than 15 years (when we studied together in grad school), and was recently honored to serve on the same team with him for a year and a half. I have always been impressed with Sid's ability to command a room and get people on board with ideas—even people who come from extremely diverse backgrounds. He has built and led teams, offering a unique strategic perspective and building a caring workplace environment.

Sid is a world-class communicator, who has traveled around the world, and throughout the U.S., inspiring people with his insightful perspectives. Plus, his personal story of overcoming tragedy has challenged many audiences to "build what counts." I have told Sid many times that although I had the incredible opportunity to supervise him for a season, I would have traded places with him any day--that is the highest recommendation that I can give!
